MSc thesis project proposal

5D Imaging Radars at 140GHz

This is a research project of collaboration with NXP Semi-conductors. The topic of collaboration is in the development of high frequency antenna front-ends for next generation automotive sensing systems at 140 GHz. The activity will involve the design and demonstration of dielectric lens antenna arrays for imaging in elevation and azimuth, as well as identifying polarization related sensing capabilities.

Master Thesis Project:

• Lens-array modeling and analysis, including lens shaping for scan-loss optimization and evaluation of critical-angle effects

• Lens antenna methodologies for achieving polarization diversity in radar systems

• Assessment of the benefits of polarization diversity in automotive radar scenarios
