MSc thesis project proposal
Designing and Validating a Hand Pressure Sensor (Hardware and Software)
This assignment challenges the student to design, implement, and validate a hand pressure sensor system. This comprehensive project involves developing both the hardware and software components of the sensor.
The objective is to create a reliable and accurate hand pressure sensor capable of measuring a wide range of pressures. The student will conduct a thorough review of existing pressure sensing technologies and signal processing techniques, followed by designing a custom hardware circuit integrating suitable sensing elements, amplifiers, and analog-to-digital converters.
The software development phase will involve creating an interface to facilitate precise data acquisition, processing, and visualization. Calibration, filtering, and data interpretation algorithms will be implemented to ensure accurate results.
Testing and validation procedures will assess the sensor's performance, including accuracy, precision, linearity, and repeatability. The student will also evaluate response time, noise levels, and the sensor's ability to handle dynamic pressure changes.
A comprehensive technical report documenting the design process, circuit diagrams, software code, and testing methodologies will be required.
