MSc thesis project proposal

Low-power DC-DC converters for energy harvesting with smart maximum power point tracking

In IoT applications, energy harvesting plays an important role. Due to the limitations of the harvester itself, the energy that can be collected by a single IoT node is often quite limited (usually below mW). To best utilize this energy, a DC-DC converter is required which consumes minimal energy by itself. In this project, we will focus on power reduction in the DC-DC converter and efficiency optimization of the entire system.

Assignment

The following project activities are expected:

·         Comprehensive literature study

·         System-level behaviour model
